Played Terraria with Zero Research

I probably should have researched more before jumping into today's game, Terraria. It's been about 15 years since I last played. And while I do remember some things, that equates to about 5% of what this game is capable of. But I decided to jump in. No practice, no skills, just seeing what I'm capable to do. And I had some fun. But in the process, I did kind of put myself [music] between a rock and a hard place. But before we get there, we always have to start at the beginning. All right. What up, y'all? We are here in some Terrari.

Terraria. My bad. Look, I have been very excited about this title and here we are playing it as we can. Um, today we're just really exploring the world. We're going to see what's really good. What's going on, my friend? Um, greetings, Sam. Is there something I can help you with? Um, let's nah, we're just going to explore, right? Let's see what this row has. So, let's switch to our axe real quick. We'll chop down a little bit of trees. And essentially, we are just going to be exploring and seeing what this world has to offer. And yeah, that's it. So, let's chop down some trees. We'll probably talk to him again when when we got to figure out what else we have to build. We got our map in the top left. All right, let's chuck down a little bit more trees. Oh, look. There's a rabbit. Bunny. Bunny rabbit. Let's attack it.

We got to get rid of this. So far, we're we're doing pretty good. I mean, we're by pretty good. I am the bar is very very low. I just want to be very clear. I do understand the the ridiculousness of me learning to play a game that's been out for I don't even know how long. Oh, wait. Where's my door go? Oh, look. It's my door. [laughter]

Okay. All right. We We somehow we placed the door. That's good. Um let's put this block here. So that way that's safe. Um I do want to pick up my uh table. But for now, let's I could get a bow. I can make some flares. Yeah, we we we're [music] going to need some torches. Um, and I think that's all we're going to build for now, right? Cuz I I could I just got to figure out how do I go in [music] and out my house. Oh, there you go. Okay. All right. I know where safety is.

And I'm pretty sure I just need a place for when it becomes [music] nighttime, right? Um, all right. Let's Let's dig a little bit around my house. Like, let's let's knock out these trees. Hold on.

Now, if you're wondering what is my expertise on this game, and this was

maybe about 15 years ago, I would I would tell you I've fought a boss or or so. I've I've I've done that. There was like a giant skeleton. Um,

and I'm sure if I really wanted to, I could probably just dig down and and find it, but would I win? Nah. So, this video is basically just like a little chill. Let's play some Terraria. No goal in mind. We're just going to learn realistically the basics and the Hold on.

wait. And then I come back and then they just want to throw hands again. All right, we defeated them, which was good. We got a couple of stars. That's good for trapping because I don't think we can come out and they can't jump over that, right? Can I just stay here? Hold on. Ready.

All right. I think I think we managed to survive one day. Oh my god. Please. I did kind of trap myself. Oh, cuz I wasn't putting down actual walls. I don't know what I can use these falling stars for, but we're going to use them for something. [music] All right. Um, these friends are trapped. Also, I don't think I get any experience or anything for doing this. But I'm like, yo, make it daytime, please. Maybe that's a a setting thing [music] that I need to I need to fix. But I mean, look, um, [snorts] we got through one day. Hold on. Hold on. I think I could break this and I'll still be safe, right? Yeah, because now I could just farm.

All right. So we we got the wild thing is that this isn't even the basics. This is like yay. You can do it. I can. But at what cost, right? All right. So technically that means that we have survived one day. And y'all I I am I'm not doing good to be honest. Um

luckily Miles is right here. Look, as someone who would who would love to uh speedrun this game, I I'm nowhere even close. I'm I'm not even touching speedrun time. Let me grab my stuff real quick. Get out. Get out. Get out. Here we go. All right. So, look, I'm going to take a pause. I don't think I would do research, per se, but I am just going to kind of figure out the real basics. And once I figure that out, we'll we'll see what I can do to get to [music] one of the skeleton bosses, cuz it's a challenge. It's doable.
